VN Vietnam Entry Point

The official application route, stage by stage

Four stages, no shortcuts. Every step below happens between you and the Vietnamese authorities — this site only explains the road.

Match your trip to a permit type

Leisure, business, study or a short layover — the purpose decides the category. First check whether your nationality already enjoys a waiver; if it does and your stay fits, no application is needed at all.

Assemble the document set

You will need: a scan of the passport bio page (valid 6+ months at entry), a recent portrait photo on a plain background (4×6 cm for paper applications), plus your entry date, exit date and intended port of arrival.

Lodge the application officially

Submit the form on the government e-visa portal, or in person at a Vietnamese embassy or consulate covering your country of residence. Never route documents through unofficial intermediaries promising "guaranteed" approval.

Track, download, print

Standard processing takes about three working days. Once issued, print the e-visa result and carry a copy — border officers at air, land and sea checkpoints will ask for it on arrival.
